Chances for UVA and W&M

Hey CC, I'm just going to drop some quick stats! If anyone could ease the college stress a little, whether just a quick "in" or "not", I'd appreciate it :)

My top choices are the University of Virginia and the College of William and Mary.
As long as I get in one or the other (with VT and JMU as back-ups), I'm not even worried about NYU or Columbia. haha

In-state (thank God..)

SAT: 1900 (CR 700, M 550, W 650)

GPA: 3.7; strong upward trend

Extra-curriculars: pretty good; Key Club District Lieutenant Governor, President of Christian Club, National Honor Society, Varsity Cross Country Captain, job as math tutor, SGA class representative, Internship at local law firm, VA Girls State, Romney-Ryan Campaign Volunteer (shows interest in government?), Relay for Life

Essays: I've spent a lot of time on them, but I feel they could be better... in one I talk about my silly speech at second grade graduation, and how I was compared to Elle Woods, but contrast it with the fact that I no longer aim to be a lawyer. I thought it was cute.. I even mention cupcakes :)

Recommendations: One VERY good, and one generic

Last year, only three people from my school got accepted. I'm from a small (senior class ~150) rural public school in southeastern virginia. Any feedback would be lovely!

It’s gonna be a low reach if you have a high weighed GPA. If 3.7 is your weighed, UVA will be a reach. You need to apply to more safety and matches.

Thanks, 3.7 is unweighted. 4.3 weighted. My school only offers limited (4-5) AP’s online, so we can’t take many to boost our weighted.
