I applied for early decision II to Vassar, and am wondering about my chances. I spent about 5 years in Israel, 4 years elem/middle school and one year in an international school for 9th grade. (my Dad and Mom were on temporary service assignments before we returned to our home in Maryland after things started going nuts.)

After attending 10th grade here in Md, I found that the school wasted a lot of time in non-essentials and I asked my parents if I could home school. I found a great independent, on-line program at the Univ of Nebraska and continued with it for 2.5 years. Does Vassar smile on home schoolers?

I've maintained a 4.0 throughout high school, was an honors student, and completed 4 APs to date (Art History, French, EngLit and US Hist) and received 4s and 5s. I have two more this year (Psych and EngLang). I was also a Merit Commended Scholar. I'm a moderately good math student, and I received mostly A's through pre-calc. I didn't take calc.

I play classical piano, but have been away from it the last two years. I am not much into team sports, although I am a strong runner, exercise daily and probably would do track and field if Vassar offers it.

My SATI was 1390 (600 math, and 790 verbal). My SAT IIs were Writing (700), Lit (740) and US Hist (690).

Does anyone have a thought about my chances for getting into Vasser or the other colleges which were regular decision schools? (Vassar is my first choice); A good friend is a Vassar alum rep and wrote a strong recommendation. Fingers crossed.
Elise ('hopeful')
