Chances @ Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, Stanford, Georgetown, UChicago, WashU, JHU

bump..............................

PaulHomeWork: (Don't listen to Ranger, his reach/match/safety analysis is complete BS)

I TOTALLY agree...

thanks xindianx..........if everyone says that ranger's analysis is crap, I guess it is (more like i hope it is)

thanks

-pbar

ranger being right - (nearly impossible) reach
ranger being wrong - safety/match

lol......thats hilarious

Yo PBar,

It's Chris from Riverwood. I was just roaming around this site and saw your user name. Good stats. Good luck on the whole college admissions thing.

The foolproof way of finding out your chances:

Turning your application in and seeing what the Adcoms have to say for themselves.

It is as simple as that. No one here can speculate accurately as to your chances unless they are Adcoms.

All they can do is post their stats that have and haven't worked.

People have gotten in with lower stats then yours. Just as people have not gotten in with way higher stats. It is a fickle thing that has no formula and is very unpredictable.

That being said, good luck.

If you don't get into Stanford, than I guess I'm not getting into UCLA. Ranger's analysis is a little misconstrued. Don't stress. Going to a name brand college isn't everything.

Did you look into the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. It would be a safety/match and it has top ranked premed/med/dentistry programs. I would not waste my time with Georgetown or Wake.

Yo guys
I jest wonder what kinda wonderguys get into those top-rate schools if not this one???????
I think anything additional in the stats of pbar is gonna be somewhat connected with first space travel to Sun =)
Pbar - YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT WAY!!!
Envy ya =)

westmonster - I appreciate the support very much. But honestly there is not much to envy. lol. Im sure you'll also get into whereever you apply

alexandre - I have actually decided to apply to UMich as well. I agree with your analysis. It's really good for predental/premed. As for Wake, they offer a lot of scholarship money, and honestly, Im not to sold on the idea of paying 40grand a year for college. Georgetown has a solid debate team, so I have it a shot.

Yeah, Ive applied a lot of places. Pretty much my philosphy is that if I can get a scholarship then all these college app fees will pay off themselves. So yeah. We'll See what happens.

Peace

Pbar

You'll get into JHU. I'm 99% sure. (I currently attend hopkins, and your stats are more than good enough).

hey thanks verbal85.............id love to go to jhu........awesome dental/med program

pbar

Hey chris,

thanks. pretty big coincidence we met here again.lol. See you at the next debate tournament. You guys going to the Barkley forum @ emory on jan 28-30?

pbar

Yup, Riverwood will be at Emory and Milton which is two weeks before.

sweet...look forward to debating ya there......

Anyone else? Comments, evaluations, anything of that sort. Im getting nervous. I hate the wait

Pbar

bump...............

bumpppppppppppppppppppppppppp

bump................................................

all ppl can really say is the top ivies are incredibly unpredictable. you can't do much better than your stats, so you have as good as a chance as probably most of the top, top students.

to make you feel better, your debate nats experience (at NFL, not CFL I hope) will do you wonders, especially since you were a junior. my older bro went to nats this past summer in Congress and was a point away from breaking to finals. he told me nearly all of the Congress ppl in sems alone were going to like Harvard, Princeton, Yale, etc. they almost expected everyone in there to be going to an Ivy league. hehe craziness, the top debaters/forensicaters seem to do quite well in college admissions :-D
