Chances I get admitted?

Hey all, I was hoping on some feedback on whether or not you all think I have a shot at getting in through holistic admissions.

SAT: 1940 (620R, 670M, 650W)
ACT: 29 (31E, 27M, 28R, 29S)
Unweighted GPA: 3.3 (we no longer rank past the top ten percent)
I submitted my first semester of senior year to help reinforce that my GPA continues to rise. It was 2.8 my freshman year.
Progressively throughout high school I have grade improvement, from freshman year having low 80s to having straight As this year, if that makes a difference.
I will graduate with 18 total advanced classes (13 PreAP or Honors and 5 AP).
I have roughly 100 hours of community service.

I am a Texas resident.

Extracurriculars: I was in marching band for three years, two years of which I competed in the UIL state marching contest and one of the years competing both at region and in solo and ensemble. I have no other Extracurriculars with noting because of the time consuming nature of band.

On the supplemental information sheet when it asked if you know any programming languages I was able to put down with pride that I did. I don't remember if it asked how many, but if it did, then I would have put four.

On the essays, I wrote each to have between 600 and 800 words. One was about leaving band my senior year against my band directors to continue pursuing an AP language, one was about the death of my mother when I was a child (a card I thought would win me some favor with the readers), and the last about how my volunteer work will play into my career path.

I sent in two rec letters, neither of which I've read, so I am unable to speak for those.

I am applying to the college of natural sciences as a biology major with a second choice in liberal arts for psychology.

Thank you in advance for taking the time!

A 3.3 is pretty low… Plus, if your rank is lower than top 10% I don’t know if your chances are very good. Your ECs sound decent but I get the impression that UT’s admission process isn’t all that holistic, unfortunately. Good luck though, you never know what will happen!

Not really confidence instilling, but thank you for taking the time to give me your thoughts!
Anyone else o.O?

Ya I agree with the above poster. I don’t really think you have a very good chance because of your GPA. And, UT doesn’t consider your senior year grades when admitting

I have this from several sources along with the website that UT does not consider GPA, at all. Instead they break it down into two categories. One, is just academics and the other is all your EC’s and stuff. I’m in the same boat as everyone else as we eagerly await the decisions. But all of this information can be found using a simple Google search and looking at the UT page. UT considers GPA to be not an accurate way of determining success in college life, so dont worry. However, your GPA will contribute to a lower (the bad lower) class rank - which for a non-auto admit matters a lot in the admissions process. Again all of this can be found on the UT page, they do a good job of filling people in on their admissions process.

That’s somewhat encouraging. I’m just hoping everything else I have is enough to pull me out of the hole that I dug freshman and sophomore years. Best of luck on your own decision, Understated!
