Chances I Know You Hate Them But Please Help

AGSAABS, I'm from NJ too! I'm also a boarder, it's seriously an AMAZING experience...

Your stats are great, I am sure that L'ville will recognize that!

L'ville admissions can be tricky though. I know two boys with incredible stats. They both ended up being waitlisted. Admissions is really a strange game. Just make yourself stand out in your applications and interview(if you haven't done it). Lots of stuff on your resume is important, but make sure you are able to define who you are. Sorry if I sound kind of vague haha... message me anytime if you have questions

Thanks! What grade are you?

I'm a freshman

What part of NJ are you from? I'm from the central shore.

I'm north. Are you looking at day schools too?

Only Catholic schools in the area.

Oh...have you visited L'ville yet?

No, I have my tour and interview in a couple of weeks.

You certainly sound like a strong candidate and any school would be happy to have you. Some additional things you need to consider, are you asking for finical aid? Are you part of an unrepresented group (minority)?

Either way, your credentials are very impressive. If I were the admission officer, you would be in!

Thanks! Yes, I am applying for financial aid and no, I am not part of a URM.

just curious...what awards have you won nation wide???

do you think it's better to apply online or on paper?

online, if you don't have time. Paper, to make it more personal, but that doesn't really matter. I'd go with online to save time.

St Paul's has gone as far as to reduce the applicaiton fee if you apply online. I'm not sure the "personal touch" matters in the applicaiton itself. Deerfield, for example does not have an online application. So for them, they still want it on paper from you.
We plan to apply online to all that have that option.

Just curious do the essays in the applications even matter in the admissions process?

Or should I say:
What does matter in the admissions process?

Thank you :)

bongo--

Here are MANY opinions ranking ALL the aspects of the application experience.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/240110-rate-following.html

hm... the interviewer not liking you thing on page one. Not true for me. At Andover, the interviewer and I had a great time talking and I was so comfortable, and he gave my mom positive feedback. At Exeter, the interviewer made me feel less comfortable. Due to this I was kind of shy. She didn't understand my point that math is a big thing for me and instead told my momthat , "I really showed my interest in the languages at PEA." hmm... I don't remember saying anything about that except that I'm bilingual. Also she seemed to hate that I liked math! :(

Results:
Waitlisted at Andover
Accepted at Exeter

So the interview is not as it may seem.

Yes, I was accepted there, so I guess that it doesn't really matter.
