I am in 8th grade applying for 9th grade.
I have all As and probably great teacher recommendations.
I feel like my applications were really good and like my essays were really good.
I have many awards in math, social studies, language arts, academics, and all around. Some are school wide, some are county wide, and a few are nation wide.
I am in many clubs, including academic ones, the NJHS, violin (for five years) in a selective orchestra group, newspaper, church youth group, and many other. Most of them I have been doing for my whole entire time in middle school and some of them for even longer.
My SSATS are 90% in verbal, 96% in reading, 99% in math, and 97% in total.
Ask me if you have any other questions.
Thanks for answering me!

Let me shake my magic 8 ball and get back to you ;)

Yes, yes, we will as much as we can. Which schools were you looking at? I'm Crickett btw, and Nellyrae will probably show up here, too.

Nice to meet you! :-)

I'm applying for Peddie, Pennington, and Lawrenceville.

I'm not familiar with Pennington but I'm applying to Peddie's rival (Blair) and Lawrenceville, too.

You might have a fair shot at Peddie but L'ville is fairly elite so you might want another opinion.
I'd expect you to want to apply to Exeter and Andover like all the other child prodigies on CC!

Most likely in at Pennington and Peddie, especially Pennington. Lawrenceville is hard for everyone but you have a good shot ! :D

I didn't want to apply to Exeter and Andover because they were too far away. At first, I was going to just do day, but now I am applying for boarding.

Are you in New England?

Jersey :-)

hey agsaabs, crickett was right, i showed up here....i'm everywhere. jk.

anyway, you look pretty good to me, but you don't sound like your invloved in the community that much except for youth group. do you play any sports? how did your interviews go? I think personality is probably one of the most important things, if the interviewer didn't like you, you won't get in. period. so how did your interviews go? it sounds like academically, your amazing, you seem to have a ton of awards, so i think you have an extremely good chance.

and di you wouldn't mind posting on my chances thread at the end of the page (the one with the really long title) it would be greatly appreciated!

welcome to CC!

Thanks for welcoming me!
Yeah, I forgot to say I play sports. I have played golf and tennis for about one or two years each.
I have only had one interview so far. I felt like it went really good.

what kinds of comments did you get at the end of it?

She said I am a very strong candidate and seemed very impressed with my achievements. Plus, she sent me a handwritten note which I replied with a handwritten note. Last week, she sent me a holidays card, too.

sounds good!

ugh, apparently i have to wait 60 seconds between posts and have 29 more to go, why do they do that? itt's so annoying..

If you are interested in adding another NJ school, take a look at Blair Academy Welcome to Blair Academy It's a beautiful campus with strong academics but also time for fun. They have a golf course and just added 8 new tennis courts. Good luck!

Are you applying as a day student or boarder? Lawrenceville is a bit tricky for boarders from New Jersey. When my daughter interviewed there years ago, we were told that it was more difficult for a New Jersey student to get in as a boarder. They try very hard to maintain geographic diversity among the boarders.

Yes, I am applying as a boarder.

there are a lot of pretty good day schools in northern nj that I know if you're considering that at all because of the proximity, are you a boy or a girl?

newark academy
pingry
kent place
delbarton (d'yer maker's alma mater)

-it all really depends on your personality and work ethic

I am a girl

hey bunny bags! I didn't knwo your a girl...weird. I have to totally rethink you now, i guess i just assumed you were a guy....

I am a girl tho, just to get that straight...

I am also a girl. Alas, I have a very manly username :p
