Chances? I'm Ashamed...but please?

Okay, sorry, I just really would like to see what you people think.

GPA: 4.7/6.0, rising GPA, came as a new 11th grader (Midd seems to accept everyone with a 5.0+ and 1400+ (old) SATs, its a top school, Phillips-Academy)
SATs: 1500/2210
Student Body Vice President (Only after 6 months at the school)
Varsity Soccer/Club Soccer (2 years)
Registered Pilot (120+ hours flight time)
Acapella, Tenor (2 years)
Built a wind turbine over the summer (middlebury has a turbine of their own)
MUN (2 Years)
NOLS Honor Graduate
Worked at a gubernatorial campaign last summer, Deval Patrick (he won! :P)

Legacy (my mom, '75)

I think a good common app. essay, slightly less good supplemental essay
Strong Reccomendation Letters From my teachers
Very strong counselour recs.

I applied EDII...very nervous.

You're probably wondering why I don't ask my college counselor about this, well I have, and he says around 50/50, but I think that might be conservative, I'm pretty sure legacy status will help a lot. I don't know though...honest opinions?

I think you have a decent chance, especially for ED II. Good luck!

its really annoying that you titled your post " chances... im ashamed but please?". You are just fishing for confidence here. You will clearly be accepted to middlebury, and you know it,

No...that's not at all what I intended. Based on what I've heard, it is far from a sure thing that I am going to be accepted. I'd love to think that, but it's far from the truth. I have a 4.7... it hurts. Sure, the ECs and the school and the legacy help, but believe me, a 4.7 leaves much to be desired. Really Bailey, I'm not fishing for anything here, most people I talk to say 50-60% chance.

Oh, and it looks like this year, middlebury's applicant pool is significantly stronger than even last year.

Depends on how many kids from Andover apply this year and if you are a stronger applicant then them. Other than that you are obviously stronger than the majority of the applicants they accept just from taking such a demanding cirriculum (I'm a preppie myself and my team typically wins Hockey titles lol).

yeah...I think I'm the only one that went EDII from Andover, so I hope that helps. Most kids who get into Midd from PA don't usually end up going, so I think ED certainly helps. They've already taken 2 guys I think.

hey, i was wondering if someone could give me my chances of getting in to midd.

GPA 3.0-3.5
SAT I 1800
5 years club soccer
3 years percussion
4 great letters of rec.
(I live in holland so i have 14 classes 4 of which are languages)

any comments or suggestions would be appreciated

chances plz...

SAT I CR 570 M 660 W 560
SAT II Chem 640 Maths II 750 Bio 530

ECs:
Member of Red Cross Society
School level Soccer and Cricket - Captain, Also volleyball, handball and badminton
School magazine editing team
Music competitions

I think my common app and the supplement essays are pretty good.
I suppose, recommendations are good

Do you guys think I've any chance of getting into Midd?
plz let me know, thanks

now, why others r posting 4 their chances here? ul should start a new thread instead of including urs in someone else's.

oopsss...

sorry asifkhan...
really sorry !!!

switch7---u said school level CRICKET, now r u from the US? (I don't think so) I'd be interested to know if there's any school in the US that has got a cricket team! I'm a COMPLETE CRICKET FAN (a real one, I can talk on any player of any country on cricket) (nah, currently I'm in the US)

well, asifkhan i'm from Nepal... so cricket is quite popular here.
don't know if i'll get any chance to play cricket in US... really worried hehe

u already in a college in US or are you applying asifkhan....

I'm still in HS. Cricket in Nepal!? That's really interesting to me! Can't wait to see them playing some intl cricket! Hope they r better than Kenya. If u live in NJ or Ny areas u probably will but in most places u've a narrow chance of playing some cricket.

FYI, guys...

http://community.middlebury.edu/~cricket/

A bit out of date, i know...

first of all i have to get a college... rlly worried that i won't get into any !

well.. can't say nepal's better than kenya, but we're definitely making our way up in the cricket field. So watch out for Nepal in the next 10 yrs or so...

"a bit out of date, i know...."
arcadia, what does that mean anyway? how can u judge a game by just a description from a site since u never know (I suppose) whether that's valid or not!?

I mean that's the website for the Middlebury College Cricket Club, but it hasn't been maintained in the past 2 years (hence, the website is "out of date"). I was meerly pointing out that Middlebury has a Cricket Club that competes against other schools with cricket clubs.

sorry, arcadia! never mind! I shouldn't have got raged w/o looking before leaping! :-)
