Hi everyone~ I was hoping to get some opinions from yall about my undergraduate transfer chances to certain schools. I would be applying this year to transfer in as a 3rd year student.

Brief Bio: I'm majoring in [psychology] with a sure-fire sight on graduate school. My goal is to either become a psychology professor or do psychology research/statistics work for a university or company someday.

-UCR Grades: I have just finished my 1st year at UC Riverside (have a total of 56 units) with a cumulative gpa of 3.85. IMPORTANT --> However, I changed the grade basis for one of my classes (Calculus 9B <- at UCR it's pretty much like highschool Calculus BC) and received a "no-credit" or pretty much a fail in it. The pass/fail grade basis that I changed the class to does not affect gpa, but of course it will show on the transcript as an "N/C" (no credit).

-Highschool Grades: 3.0 range / 1180 SAT

-UCR E.C: a) I've been a research assistant in the social and personality psychology department (more specifically, cultural psychology) for 2 quarters now.
b) Scheduled for research assistant work in a new lab (still social/personality department) this summer starting in August.

Realistic Chances To: UCB, USC, UCSD, Stanford, UCLA??

super nova, a fail looks pretty bad imo.. just use ratemyprofessor and get an easy 9B professor.. it was hard for me too but not impossible. I got a B.

"Yeah, I'm going to Berkeley. You should try Cal too! There's always Stanford for grad school =)"

Wow GJ Cardinal ~ The thing that worries me though about Berkeley or LA or something, is that it may be harder than Riverside to get good grades?? So getting into grad school would be harder??

Hey hobofromdowntown, yah I agree with you~ But I'm worried my grade won't get any better even if I retake.. =/ And like, I got a C- in the class, but supposedly UCR's "pass/fail" grade basis says a C- and below is fail and C and above is pass..

btw... hobofromdowntown, do you attend UCR??

Worry about that later. I think when it comes to universities like UCLA and UCB where everyone is generally smart...it'll all come down to effort and applying oneself. But I have no idea hah i'm just an incoming transfer.
