Chances of a Anthro major at the UCs? Unique situation?

Hi guys. I am currently studying at a California community college and am an Anthro major. I applied this past fall to UCSD, UCSB, UCD, UCLA, and UCB. After the Fall 2014 update, my transferable GPA is a 3.9. I’ve completed one prereq already and am currently enrolled in the last two prereqs. There is one more prereq required for UCLA but it is not offered at any colleges in the area. I even went as far as seeing if it’s available at any colleges more than 50-100 miles away. It’s not available there either. I will also have finished IGETC by the end of the Spring 2015 semester.

My ECs include volunteering with an animal rescue organization for 5 years with 600+ volunteer hours. I’ve also been involved with the anthropology department at my college and gotten involved in projects within the department since this last quarter. I’m in the honors program at my college and am on track to becoming TAP certified. I also have a job in sales.

However, I’m kind of in a strange situation. I just graduated high school this past summer and took classes the last two years of high school at this same college. So I have enough credits to transfer in Fall 2015. Therefore, some of my ECs apply to work I did in high school last year (organizing events on the college campus, leading member of yearbook, etc). Will the universities take these into account? After all, this is only my second semester as a full time college student. Also do I have a good chance at these schools?

Hope this all makes sense. Thanks in advance.

The required prereq that is not offered, will not count against you.

Yes the UCs will take your ECs into account.

You have an excellent chance at each of the schools you applied to!

Good luck!
