I am currently attending Valencia community college in Florida with a 3.85 gpa. I unfortunately was unable to have extracurriculars do to my work schedule. I am curious what you think my chances of being accepted as a junior transfer to their school of engineering for computer science is? I have all prerequisites done.

Assuming you have the pre-reqs (i.e. Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, etc), you probably have a decent chance of being accepted as a transfer student.

However, a few things:

1) The average ACT score for incoming freshman in engineering is between a 30 and a 34. As a result, the competition at U of I will be a lot more intense than what you are currently experiencing at your junior college. I knew a junior college transfer at U of I that was in disbelief when he couldn’t get above C grades in his upper-level pre-med courses.

2) You won’t be able to work more than 10 hours per week in engineering (if you want decent grades).
