Thank you! I know my GPA is probably a bit on the lower side but I hope my essays will save me. I will have taken 7 AP classes by the end of senior year [AP World History (3), AP Bio (3), AP Lang (4), AP Gov, AP Psych, AP Lit, AP Calc AB].
Also wondering if they take into account of AP Scores?
you look fine for the school. not a reach, a match, just keep in mind it has a huge applicant pool and is considered a match for a lot of people. I had similar stats and I’m here ¯_(ツ)_/¯
UCLA is a reach for all. What is your dream job? What do you want to accomplish. It’s worth spending time thinking about the essay questions and choosing the ones that help you shine.
@preppedparent Do they actually pay a lot of attention to essays? I thought we so many applicants, UCLA just briefly reviews the essays without giving them a lot weight.
@collegefind1234 It’s my belief that the essays are a big differentiator between who is accepted and who isn’t. There are so many kids with similar stats that they have to use something else and that is the essays. You also need grades and high test scores, but we know plenty of kids who had those and didn’t get in including one of my sons.
