Hi, so my CSU GPA currently is 3.92 and my ACT score is 27.
Sophomore Year: honors biology and honors English
Junior Year: APUSH and AP Psych
Senior Year: possibly honors English and AP Computer Science
I had a few questions though about senior year. At SDSU I’m planning for my major to be mechanical engineering or psychology. I was wondering if I should take a science class (anatomy) because SDSU only needs 2 years of lab science, and I have fulfilled that requirement already. I’m asking because anatomy is a fairly difficult class in my school, and I would like to have a relaxing senior year. Also, would Honors English be necessary? I’m not entirely sure if I really want to take it, but I don’t know how important Honors classes would be regarding my chances of admission.
For CSUs, (except CP SLO) course rigor doesn’t really factor into admission - beyond the GPA bump, particularly Sr year. You MUST complete the a-g matrix - beyond that it simply doesn’t matter. If you take a really hard a-g class Sr year (like AP CS) and don’t pass, your admission will probably be revoked. Something to think about as you firm up your schedule for next year.
With a 3.92/27, you are a very strong candidate for SDSU. That said, there are no sure things in this world. Apply to a couple other campuses as well. I’d look at UCR, CSULB and Cal Poly Pomona too (maybe LMU or USD too).
Good luck.
Actually HS course rigor is listed on SDSU’s common dataset as very important, see section C7.
Meeting the minimum may not be enough these days, just try to reach a good balance.

That said, if you do not need the Anatomy class, I would take one of these science classes if you have not already: Biology, Chemistry or especially Physics. Exposure to Physics would be very beneficial for your major.
Honors English is not necessary and there is no reason to take a very difficult senior schedule, but SDSU has gotten very competitive so keeping a similar class rigor would be in your best interests to be a competitive applicant.
@NCalRent has given you some good advice in expanding your lust of schools to apply. Make sure you have some solid safety and match schools on your list. And Good Luck.
