Chances of getting in?

I know Northeastern is a stretch for me but...

Right now I'm a junior in high school, my GPA is around a 90 (weighted, my school doesn't send out unweighted GPAs because they don't do class rank), I don't know exactly because it hasn't been updated in a while but I'm confident I could bring it up to at least a 91 or 92 by the time I apply.

I took the SATs once so far, and got a 1690 with no prior preparation, so I'm taking a class now and hoping to wind up with around 1900.

Honors/APs:
World History Honors
English II Honors
US I Honors
English III Honors

and senior year...
English IV Honors
AP Spanish OR AP Gov

Newspaper staff for 3 years (freshman can't join, so that is the maximum)
1 year as a page editor, and hopefully one year as editor-in-chief
2 years as a member of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions)
2 years as Homework Help Center volunteer at local library (around 60 volunteer hours)

Both the newspaper and the homework center have selective admissions.

I know Northeastern is a bit of a stretch for me, but I think it's definitely worth applying to and I'm very interested in the Journalism program.
Anyone have any advice on what I could do in the next few months to increase my chances of being admitted, or schools that I should also consider?

Thank you in advance!

If you can get your SAT up to a 1900, I think you have a good shot. I got in with a 90 gpa and 1910 SAT. If you did some community service it would increase your chances.

Thanks very much!

Northeastern gets more competitive every year. Definitely retake the SAT’s

i got in with 1860

I got in as an engineering major with a 92 weighted gpa and 1900 SAT. I think your in if you raise you SAT to atleast 1850.

Thanks for the encouragement, haha! I think I can definitely get my SAT score to 1850.

Yeah you’re lookin good from my standpoint (a little lacking with Leadership ECs, colleges like that). I got in with an 1830 on the SAT, and into the competitive pharm program too. Granted I got only a 540 on the writing. But I think that you have a good shot! Good luck!

Thankss! Any more advice anyone??

Hey! I am also a member of SADD! I think that you have a really strong chance! I got into the biology department with a 1930 superscored SAT and a 31 ACT (I did much better on ACTs, I thought they were easier for me). Leadership is also important. My best advice for you is to work very hard the rest of your Junior year, and do some community service! Good luckkk :)

Yay, a fellow SADD member! Thanks for the advice, I’m really hoping I have a shot but I definitely will work on my community service in the next few months. :)
