Thanks for your support, J. I appreciate it.

@jtfootball @jxuwyrm @Supergirllove Thanks a lot! I have pretty much dedicated this summer just for the SAT and considering what my teachers say about my essays, I shouldn’t have too much of a problem with that. I will really be working hard next year to get a good GPA and hopefully be successful on the SAT. Hope to be seeing you at IMSA as well!

Yeah, can’t wait to see you next year! Hang in there, we’ve all gone through the process and survived. It’ll all be worth it in the end!

@kidfood and all new admitted students, always consider in your application and your decision to attend or not is this - why do I want to go to this school? what will I lose if I decide not to go? It may be a terrific school but it is not for everyone. Like in looking for college, you want the best fit and in some cases, it may be your local school. I graduated from IMSA within the last few years and procrastinating studying for finals. Feel free to PM me if you have questions. CC was very helpful when I was college-hunting. Thought I’d return the favor.

@nickster12 Hi, I was wondering, I know IMSA is really hard and stressful and everything, but if you have good study habits and time management, would it be possible to get straight a’s?

it is possible to get straight A’s. very very few people do though. around 2%?

colleges know how hard it is to get a straight A at IMSA but you still want to do your best. A lot of kids think that getting to IMSA is a goldent ticket. It is not. I have seen a lot of my classmates squander their talents and had a rude awakening once they get their college acceptances/denials.

I hear a lot of people don’t really do well because they are playing video games and aren’t really putting in the effort?

So if we do put in effort, we can get straight a’s? Because I know IMSA is hard but I want to go to medical school and so I would need good grades.

as i said it is doable. where do you want to go to college? are you looking into top 20 or direct programs? both require high grades

Top 20

you can probably get by with a few Bs but for the top 5 a straight A is almost a requirement unless you have a major hook.

Guys could you pls make a new thread for this. This for admissions only

Sorry @tigerman333. Good luck at IMSA. It was a great experience! @Supergirllove just tag me if you start a new thread.

Hi, I was wondering for any of those wait listed students: Has anyone received any news whether they have been accepted or not?

@Farriswheelz I have not been waitlisted, but have you gotten in? I will be applying net year and I have similar stats as you aside from the math SAT and your sports, but I still have an entire year so I know that will change. I am just very curious about who got in and who didn’t based on their credentials

@kidfood You could always read this post over again if you want to

Good luck to you! @Farriswheelz Let us know if you are accepted so we can get to know each other before the school year starts!

@jtfootball Yea I know, I was actually doing that today and keep it in my browser everyday to remember the goal and see that it’s not impossible. I have been doing some SAT prep right now for about a month. Keeping the dream alive!

@kidfood Well, keep doing practice tests and take the SAT once as a practice trial. Don’t just take the SAT once because most likely the first time will not be your best. My first SAT score was really bad but the second time I improved by almost 100 points on each section! You’ll be surprised by what you can accomplish if you work hard.

@jtfootball Yea, I took the test back in January and will most likely be taking it again next January since I will have the most knowledge with less stress compared to March. I will be needing more than 100 for me haha I am looking for a 200 point boost on each section.
