Chances of Getting Into Newhouse?

<p>Hey, I am a high school Senior trying to find out if I have a good chance of getting into Newhouse. Here is my resume:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.67 unweighted</p>

<p>SAT: 1940 (Math- 670, CR- 640, Writing- 630)</p>

<p>School EC's: Tennis Team- 1-4 (Captain Senior Year), Newspaper- 1-4 (Sports Editor
Senior Year), Paintball Club- 1-4, Ski/Snowboard Club- 1-4, National Honors Society- 3 and 4, NYSSHS- 2-4, Ambassador- 2-4, JROTC- 1-2, Italian Club 1-4, Intramural Sports 1-4</p>

<p>EC's Outside of School: Creator and Founder of blog about the Yankees 3-4, Interned at a television production company this Summer, Ranked top 5 in NYC in tennis and top 200 in the East for the past 2 years, Ball boy at the US Open for the past 2 years</p>

<p>AP's and Honors: 4 AP's and 8 honors classes</p>

<p>Recs: A good counselor rec and 2 good teacher recs</p>

<p>State: New York</p>

<p>What does everyone think? Please be completely honest. I want to major in Broadcast Journalism.</p>

<p>You have a good chance of getting in - I’m not sure it matters what you say you want to major in since they allow you to change it. Make sure you visit and interview soon.</p>

<p>Hi I"m currently a Newhouse student. Dean Branham stated the acceptance rate statistics earlier this year for the Class of 2014. Off the top of my head, she said the average unweighted GPA was 3.9 and average SAT score around 2000 (random: largest minority percentage so far of 15%?). I would say to improve your GPA and write a killer essay! The broadcast journalism major here in Newhouse is great and has the most challenging curriculum! Good luck!</p>
