Chances of getting into North Carolina State university, I just got deferred.

Hey everyone! I am an in-state, white, female who applied to NCSU for Early Action and was deferred. Here are my stats:
-GPA unweighted 3.5
-GPA weighted 4.45
-National Honors society member
-IB Diploma Candidate
-3 varsity sports letters
-120 volunteer hours
-A 4, and then two 3 on AP exams
-1710 SAT score
-Have had 4 AP/IB classes my junior year, 5 AP/IB classes my senior year
I applied as a Political Science major. When I toured the university the dean of the Humanities school told me herself I had a high chance of getting in, what happened? I am not a math person, so I haven't taken very hard math classes. Is that why I was deferred? pleas help, thank you!

re-read the first line of your post and you probably have your answer.
Seriously, I wish you the best of luck!

What is the SAT score breakdown ? SAT is on the range but I think GPA might be a little low. You should get accepted in regular admission.

I’m pretty surprised that you’ve been deferred. I know of in-state applicants getting into State with sub-1600 SAT scores and weighted GPAs of around 4.0. Granted, those applicants probably had redeeming extracurriculars… but still, your stats are certainly good enough. I can only assume you are one of the top deferred applicants, so I would remain optimistic.
