Provided I have a good audition do you think I’ll get in ?

Also, I am technically an international student ( but I’ve lived here for 10 years ) does this make any difference in my chances ?

My high school is also one of the top 50 in the country if that makes a difference :3

Chances of PAYING for NYU Tisch?

Tisch is very expensive and like the other reply, what is your ability to pay. I really think that the audition is so important as well. Make sure you have a good, age appropriate monologue- several are even better. And of course, your songs should be well prepared.

We have 2 friends who got into this dream school only to leave after one year when their parents wallet went empty. Parents want to make their kids dream come true. Be realistic even when you audition. It is so heartbreaking to get in only to not be able to afford it. It is true money may come your way but NYU is quite open with the fact that they do not meet need. If you need 95% grant, this is not for you. Half is much more realistic and that is if you have some financial NEED.

Well I am very fortunate and Am able to pay full tuition. But academically, do you think my credentials will ultimately be a hinderance to my admission decision ? Considering I have a strong audition ( which I am rather confident with )

There is certainly nothing about your profile to exclude you if they like your audition. It looks great. Have a great audition!

For NYU, your GPA & Your SAT is rather low. The average GPA is about a 3.7 and the average SAT is generally around or above 2000. That doesn’t rule out anything however; you do have great extracurriculars. However with Tisch drama it’s so hard to chance because of your audition. I wish you the best!:)

Alexxmichele is correct but I do believe that while my daughter’s SAT score was higher her GPA was about the same and her SAT was certainly not 2000. Good luck, do your best and believe that what is meant to be will be.

My daughter is a film student at Tisch. Her SAT scores were average…maybe even a little low, and her grades in school were good, but nothing spectacular and she took no AP classes, the school didn’t offer any. NYU was the only college my daughter applied to and she was thrilled to get in. She is in her second year now and she loves it up there, loves NYC. My other daughter recently auditioned in Houston for MT. Honestly, I will be amazed if she gets in, but with my oldest making it, anything could happen…haha.

appasi: do you know the exact scores and GPA? Because I too am on the lower end of acceptance. I have a 27 ACT an 3.5 GPA with a little number of APs and a lot of extra curriculars and really interested in Tisch!
