id like to double major in international business + finance or management at georgia tech. i visited the school at night and fell in love with it, im a junior right now with a 3.3 weighted and 3.0 unweighted gpa, i know its horrible but i failed math freshmen year because i was conflicted and depressed but this year i want to turn it around, we moved to georgia just to increase my chances of getting into tech but since my parents sacrificed so much is it really worth it? do i even have a shot of getting in? can someone please give me guidance? this year i took physics pre calc apush ap lang apush and spanish 3 and next year im taking ap calc ap econ international business and culutures and other classes i have to decide on, in the past i have a few library volunteering hours, was in action against hunger, human rights and book club but nothing major or leadership worthy, this year at my new school i want to try for mun and debate and also join an sat prep class hoping that could increase my chances, can someone please help me? is this a plausible plan or should i just aim for UGA or GSU because i know tech is getting very competitive
@college9118888 I would certainly try to increase that GPA this year because colleges do respect an upward trend. You have got an important year ahead of you so make it count. Apply to Tech. Remember, Tech reviews holistically so your GPA is not the only thing that is going to decrease your chances. Write something meaningful in your essays and show them who YOU are. Apply to UGA/GSU but definitely aim for Tech. I hope that helped!
