I attend a prestigious public high school in Houston, Texas. It's ranked in the top 10 overall high schools among private schools and is basically considered the best public high school in Houston. I'm a junior and have taken all AP classes throughout high school in all subjects except math (taking regular pre-cal this yearand have a 100 average), on my third year of Chinese, and belong to the debate team and volunteer organizations. Basically, I want to know if I meet the qualitifications. Most people apply to UT, it seems like people are starting to look towards A&M, and it's really starting to worry me because of the competition in my school.
This is what my resume would look like if I applied senior year:

-100+ YES volunteer hours
-Generation Volunteer Organization - 2 years - not a school organization
- Debate team - 3 years (still deciding whether to do 4 years)
- Interact volunteer organization (school)
- FCC (Families with CHinese Children)
- Red Cross - one year (lol, didn't take it seriously)
- Regular volunteer with special needs children every weekend
- will be a regular volunteer at MD Anderson in the summer.

As for Academics..
- top 25% exactly (trying to raise it)
- 3.6 GPA out of 4...(i know..not good)
- so far, the highest i have scored is a 1700 on PSAT..taking the real SAT next month..
- 169 out of 675 rank as of right now

Basically, I have no leadership positions in any clubs, which is really starting to bother me because I know colleges really people who can lead. Hopefully, my essays might be able to save me. I guess one of the unique things about me is that I'm one of the 50,000 children adopted from China by an American family? I was a PAL in 8th grade but i don't think that counts anymore.
Please, advise me what else I need to do! I'm really starting to worry about college..because so many of my extremely bright senior friends are getting rejected. THANK YOU SO MUCH! :) I really appreciate the help!
