Chances of getting into UCI/UCLA/USC

Hello,

I would like to know what my chances of getting into these school ares, here are my credentials. I am moving to Irvine so i am aiming for UCI

Unweighted GPA: 3.73
Weighted GPA: 4.2
ACT: 30
Out of state for the first year

AP Biology, AP US History, AP Language, AP Physics B, AP Calc AB, AP Psychology

Sports/Clubs:

2 years JV Golf/ 1 year Varsity Golf
4 years Academic Bowl
4 years FBLA ( Went to nationals twice)
1 year robotics
1 year WYSE

I’d say you have a shot at UCI.

anymore answers?

You might want to post a question on the financial aid forum - they can help you figure out if you will be out of state for the first year or for all FOUR years at a UC (sometimes it isn’t as simple as moving to Irvine). If you start as out of state you might be classified as out of state all four years so sometimes it is better to take a gap year and start as a resident - like I said, the posters on the financial aid forum are great at helping figure it out (it can be very confusing).

USC is private, so your residency won’t matter, but you will want to know if you would be in the income range likely to get financial aid - full cost (instate and out) this year is about $58,000/year. Your ACT is just barely in the middle 50% and your GPA a bit below the average, so you look like a you have a shot at USC (maybe a little bit reach-y), but you probably wouldn’t be in the group getting big scholarships http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/1213/USCFreshmanProfile2012.pdf</a> .

Good luck!
