Chances of getting into UF?

<p>Okay, so yes, it's another one of those "what do you think my chances are..." questions. I won't know until February 15, so I know there's nothing else to do but wait. No need to worry and such... I can't help but wonder though...</p>

<p>My dream school is the University of Florida. I'm an out-of-stater, so I guess that might be a strike against me? I dunno really...</p>

<li><p>I have a 4.1 GPA, I'm the valedictorian from a class of 370 (lucky me, I know...), and I have decent outside activities. </p></li>
<li><p>I am a weak test taker! :/1900 on the SAT. 630 CR, 600 M. 670 on writing, but... I don't believe UF looks at that...</p></li>
<li><p>I'm an IB student... I know UF is a top IB student recruiting school... I am going for the full diploma and have already taken one test last year and scored a 6 out of 7... </p></li>
<li><p>I've been in the top choir since...forever. I've made All-Region Choir every year of high school... I also am apart of a small after school choir group and we go around and perform around the city. It's pretty neat. :)</p></li>
<li><p>I have over 200 volunteer hours from the local hospital, and 100 from the public library. As far as total volunteer hours go, I have around 500... </p></li>
<li><p>Umm, I'm in NHS...secretary of NHS...</p></li>
<li><p>I was nominated and selected for M.A.S.H. (Medical Applications for Science and Health, a neat summer program), Governor's School, and Girls State.</p></li>
</ul>

<p>I think that covers the major points...</p>

<p>I got accepted at Florida State already... What do you think about UF though? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!</p>

<p>I would think they'd accept you. I think UF looks at the writing to some extent because they require the writing portion of the ACT for the score to be considered.</p>

<p>I dont think anyone can tell, UF is random i know really stupid people who got in and really smart people who got rejected. Im applying there too and I really hope I get in. Good luck.</p>

<p>I don't see how you have a score in the 1900's when you're the valedictorean but you will get in. UF isn't that competitive.</p>

<p>Thank you guys; I had forgotten that I had posted this. I am limited with the schools I can stand a chance at because of my low SAT scores. :( I wish I had put more time into prep; I'm just naturally a bad test taker. I've kind of been putting almost all of my energy into the IB program. Oh well, it's a done deal. </p>

<p>My school is full of people who don't have big plans for their future. To say the least. Most people at my school took the ACT. In fact, I know of only about 6 people who took the SAT. =/</p>

<p>I have visited UF last summer and I know that is where I 100% want to go. They're generous with IBers and I like what they have to offer in general with a pre-med path program. </p>
