Thanks for any input!

You certainly have strong test scores and a high class rank which will both be plus factors. Have you completed (or plan to take) any of the following courses: calc, physics, the fourth year of a foreign language? To us these are benchmarks of a strong high school curriculum. None were mentioned in your list of APs. If you don’t have physics but have AP Bio your senior year that’s okay but we’d definitely recommend you take calc and the fourth level of a foreign language.

Also, you didn’t mention a lot of four-year commitments in your ECs. This is also very important to us. You do have some leadership in newspaper and we’d definitely recommend you go for that position in speech. We also understand that leadership positions are harder to come by in in larger schools like Wheaton North.

Your ACT score is very strong. Nothing wrong with taking it again as we’ll only look at your highest composite so it can’t hurt you but your score is strong already.

We’d recommend that you consider taking calc and the fourth level of a foreign language and insure your personal qualities come through in your essay(s) and recommendation(s) and that you pursue whatever leadership positions you can to help distinguish your application from the other high-achieving students in our pool but certainly your objective qualities are off to a strong start.
