I just finished my Freshman year at Ohio University in Athens. My cumulative GPA for the year is 2.87this is because I got a D- in one class during the last quarter. I've completed 46 credit hours, so High School transcripts won't be a factor.

I'm hoping that OSU sees the D- I have as a simple anomaly and understands that I'm a pretty decent student.

So, what are my chances of getting in? Do I have a shot? A bad one? A decent one?

I think the reason why it takes so long for a decision to come out is because the transcripts take time to get to the admissions office. I think they only spend a day or two over the grades and applications and make a decision then.
Btw, where are you transferring from? What will you study at OSU?

Yeah, I’m hoping they make the decision quickly after transcripts are received.

Transferring from Ohio University in Athens. I will study Political Science, which isn’t a very selective field. Hopefully that improves my chances.

My GPA is a 2.4 & I’m OOS but when I called the admissions office I was told they consider a 2.5 competitive which is why I went ahead and applied. I really hope I get in! GPA can’t be the only factor. I’ve heard people getting denied with 3.2 and others getting accepted with 2.7. I love OSU. fingers crossed

It says a couple weeks on the website but with the quarter coming up soon, I think they will make them quicker. If accepted student have to do housing, credit transfer, and all that good stuff. My main question is why did they extend the application deadline? Is this a good thing or bad thing for hopeful transfers?

Have yet to hear anything. My transcripts still do not show up as received, so I called OSU today and they said they have 'em and they will show up soon. They also asked about my high school transcripts, which was odd considering that I have over 45 credit hours.
