My passion is running. It'll be my essay topic and I'll be contacting a few coaches soon, to see if i can walkon or get some sway in admissions. PR's are 2:09/4:39/10:48(bad, ran it once)/17:56. Basically the 1600 time is the only thing that's near notable. Hopefully i'll be down around 16:30 by the fall.

~Other

Recs will be fine, nothing stellar
I understand how important the essay is so I'll make it good
Will probably get a supplemental rec from my boss at Cornell

That's basically it, i probably missed something here or there but that's most of it. Oh right the schools. It isn't final, except for Columbia ED, and will be subject to change. I understand i need more safeties but I'll get them later.

Columbia ED
Stanford
Harvard
Brown
Upenn
Northwestern
UChicago
NYU

wow, great scores & grades. You said your passion is running, are you going to continue it in college?

Columbia ED/ stanford: solid reaches, but u have a shot; harvard - crap shoot; brown/penn/NU/Uchic- reach, but lower than columbia and others

i hope to =)

I'm emailing coaches soon to see where i stand

Bumppppppp

Columbia ED-solid chance
Stanford-who knows?
Harvard-who knows?
Brown-low reach
Upenn-reach

UChicago-match
NYU-match
BC-low match
Rutgers-in

bump again, anyone else have any other critique?

hey i know this one girl, she's exactly like you...good academics, focused, and an EXECELLENT runner. i think shes #7 in the nation or something like that but shes' a PHENOMENAL runner, cant stress it ienough.

from what ive heard, princeton is looking into her (maybe a rumor, idk) and she can get a scholarship for doing pre-med because of her running (lucky *****...=X) but since she has a good chance, and since im presuming yuour a good runner, i think youve got a good chance just because of your running
but then agin im no expert ;)

oh and the only difference b/t you and her is the scores.
she's not really good at standerdized (wow butchered the spelling) tests but she's extremely focused and shes pretty much a teachers pet

...shes kindof annoying actually, but you get my point haha

haha going to princeton? Would her name be Ashley Higginson by any chance from Colts Neck. She won the 3200 this year at MOC and won the Penn Relay 3000. She'll be at princeton next year. Ye I'm definitely not that good. I may not even be good enough to be recruited..i think my times are just shy of that mark. BUt hopefully they'll still be worth something, and i can continue to run in college

nah her names' jess zozos. I dont think shes been flatly admitted, but i think shes gonna get a full ride to princeton because she might get recruited
i dont know but i think thats kindof unfair

plus i'd like to see her juggle pre-med and running at the same time

Haha Higginson was in my Calculus class this year...and no, nobody can touch her.

one last bump, any other suggestions/comments?
