Chances: Penn State University Park =)

I'm a junior and I would like to know my chances for getting into Penn State University Park...

9th grade - 3.5 (1 honors class)
10th- 3.6
11th - 3.7 (1 AP)

I havn't taken the SATs yet

Participated in a fall sport every year so far but I quite soccer my sophmore year (will that hurt my chances? some people say so)

I am in national honor society, history club, and DECA

ah.. i'm so stressed

It's really impossible to tell you without an idea of what your scores will be.

dude ur already so stressed as a jr? just chill out and make sure you finish out this year with good grades, and prep for the sats or acts.

come back when you take your SAT's.

1200 + 3.2 = automatically in PSU

I think that pretty much regardless of your SAT's (as long as they aren't terrible), you're going to get in. You have a GPA around 3.6, good ECs, and you want to go there (hence the name psu88). I think you won't have much to worry about.

yeah. don't stress. keep up the trends, you have a great shot! :)

I agree that you don't have to worry, but MacTruck is absolutely wrong. People from my school with over 1200 and over 3.2 did not get in. But, with the 3.6 GPA and taking an AP course, I think it'd be a good match with over 1100, 1150-1200ish and you will most likely get in, and at 1250ish it would be a safety.

penn state is awsome about its admission process
they dont care at all about ECs or anything besides Weighted GPA + SAT score

my friend got a 9 Day suspension and got a DWI... penn state was informed, and he will still be attending this fall

I second chocolate's comment. try to aim for a 1200 and it should be quite a safe match. good luck!

wait.... does penn state unweight grades??

no, they look at ur weighted GPA

sweet... then what are my chances with a

3.7, 1260

major?.....

"1200 + 3.2 = automatically in PSU"

false.
More proof that people underestimate PSU admissions greatly

Goblue- it should be a safety for you. Good GPA.

my major is business

id say a 3.5+ and your set regardless of your SAT (unless its below 1000)

Does anyone know when PSU admissions deadline is scheduled? I looked on the website and they only state that the priority deadline was Nov. 30th. I also think they mentioned that there was no absolutely deadline, but if this is true, what's the logic behind this?

Sorry to digress from OP's original post!

There is no deadline, or more specifically, the deadline is whenever the programs fill up. My friend applied around 1-2 weeks into April, and was admitted. (1430 SATs, around 3.1-3.2ish UW GPA)
