For OOS it's always hard, but man you have a GREAT chance! You're ECs are REALLY good. It's good that you didn't just confine yourself to what things your school had, but did other things also. Your test scores are great too. The only thing that MIGHT be weak is your GPA, but other things make up for it. I say go for it!!!!!! :) :) :)

On a side note how'd you go from Pre Calc to Linear Algebra? Just wondering. Thanks.

People with my gpa usually go to mid tier ivies (Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth) or schools like duke. Occasionally a 90 or 91 average manages to make it into Yale, Princeton, Stanford or MIT.

For UVA the average GPA of an accepted student is a 91.16.

Pretty good chances, although I'm kind of intrigued as to how you're going to take Linear Algebra after taking only Precalc. I took Lin Alg at my HS in my senior year too, but only after I took AP Calc BC and Calc III. I know that lin alg doesn't really pertain very much to Calculus, but you do need some knowledge of integrals and stuff, so how are you pulling that off while taking AP Calc AB at the same time?

I'll be going to UVa this year, and I was also OOS, so I guess I generally know what it takes for out of state students to get in, although a great deal is dependent on how your app essays are, so nothing said here is certain...

IMO, admissions cannot be predicted - but collegehopeful stands a very good chance. If your research is published, that would be impressive. Your test scores are right up there even though your gpa seems low, but high schools all grade differently - some harder than others. Good luck to you!
