Reach: Stanford, Cornell
High Match: CM

The rest are matches and below.

wow really? say that my SAT II Spanish and Math IIC end up being flat 700s and my SAT only goes up to 1470 // 2180 ... u still say CMU would be a high match? btw lol im just curious.. how would this compare if instead.. i was purely caucasian or asian

bump bump bump

I'm impressed.

well.. my mother is born in US w/ dutch ethnicity .. father was born in uruguay... while i am not 100% hispanic.. that makes me hispanic enough to choose the URM .. so umm what do you guys think about my chances?

you're huge!
just focus in. you're good to go, but a little more leadership would be helpful. capitalize ont he first gen thing, they love that i think)
as a hispanic you're pretty desirable, but that's not a guarantee for stanford or cornell. i hear uta has a good engineering program, but since it's public being a urm won't help you there. you're really likely to get in there though. the internship is great!

member doncha: that's not fair. hispanic people can be smart, when pushed. just as black people can. it's a question of effort. i resent that people tell me i should be asian, like being intelligent isn't equatable with being black...

well dontcha should be impressed considering on how low hispanics generally score... Using Z-Scores to compare the scores of Hispanics vs Asians.. i just realized that a Hispanic is less likely to score a 2040 than Asian is to score a 2400. That is friggin awesome for me but a sad fact in general. Here's the data: http://www.collegeboard.com/prod_downloads/highered/ra/sat/SAT_CR_mathematics_writing_percentile_ranks_gender_ethnic_groups.pdf

So yahh.. chance me some more people

bump bump bump.. plz chance me some more

what does bump bump bump mean?

sorry I'm new to this

This thread is either full of sarcasm or blatant racism.

either way.. would u plz let me know what u think?

btw bump means that i am reposting on my own topic to put it bak on the main page so ppl have the chance to view it

Not really.
The honest truth is that being Asian can cut your chances in half.
And being Native American can more than double it.
Yay for racism; we call it affirmative action.

Just curious, 3.5 w or uw? Either way, the fact that you're hispanic is a pretty big plus. Your SAT scores are great, regardless of race. If you emphasize heritage/commitment to engineering in clubs, work xp (btw, you don't have to be paid to have work exp, unpaid internships count as well) and how it's influenced your decisions, you probably have a decent shot. Stanford/Carnegie Mellon, Cornell are reaches. (Not impossible -- a few of my friends are urms and got into Stanford with 1980, 2000, and a 2190) I don't know where you're from, but be sure to apply to a few state schools as safetys (it doesn't matter who you are, you should always have an in-state safety).

im from new jersey.. a pretty tough state .. and it is unweighted .. our school doesnt weight things .. so yah rutgers is my instate safety.. purdue would be a safety too of course

mo chancin pleez?

plz chance me
