Chances thread, not like the usual bunch...

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site and I would like everyone's imput regarding admission to Syracuse. Here are my stats.

SAT I:
Critical Reading: 540
Math: 640
Writing: 650

SAT II: I'm taking Spanish and Literature. I'm getting the scores back this Tuesday. In Spanish I feel as very confident about: 650-700, Literature I feel between 500-600.

3.3 GPA overall, 6.1 weighted on a scale of 10, Top 38% of my class from a High school that sent four students to Syracuse last year.

My freshman and sophmore years consisted of mostly B's in college prep classes. However, my junior year, I recieved all A's with a 3.85 GPA.

Honors classes I have taken: Honors Idea of Man, Honors World Issues, Honors Latin III, AP Spanish V, Honors Spanish IV

In my sophmore and junior years, I injured myself twice playing football. I recieved surgery two times, and the first surgery really made me setback academically. However, I clearly recovered my junior year despite the surgery.
My guidance counselor mentioned this and has incorporated into her recomendation my growth and maturity. I've incorporated my injury into my essay which displays my own determination, so I consider my essay fairly strong.

Rec's are strong like bull.

Extra Curriculars:
Football 4 years, Varsity for 2
Baseball Freshman Year (I would have played for three years, but surgeries prevented me)*
Wrestling Freshman year*
Spring Track 2 years
Community Service Club 2 years
* 40+ Hours , Soup Kitchens, EMARC dances, Local Fairs

Work: *Ice cream parlor since 2005 until present.
*Summer Student Employee (Summer 2005, 2006) at Laboratory taking Chemical INventory
*FLag football instructor (Spring 2005) for elementary school.
*Time Keeper in the 2005 Boston Marathon

By the way, I am applying Early Decision and have had an interview. I am applying to the College of Human Services and Health Professions for Sport Management; if I were not to be accepted there, my backup would be in the college of Arts and Sciences. Clearly, Syracuse is my number one. Based on my credentials, my own set of circumstances, what do you think?

Sorry..a few more things I want to add so I can give the application a kick:

I am a member inducted into the Century Club my junior year (Club that honors the top 100 students in the school with the top 100 GPA's)

I also won the Gold Medal with Magna Cum Laude on the National Latin Exam.

Seven years of foreign language, one Latin course over the summer....

Go ahead, put me under that big flashy light and tear my application apart.....

anyone....?

I think you're ok. The early decision pool at SU is typically a little weaker than the regular decision pool, so you may look stonger than other applicants. Good luck.

Thanks. Anyone else?...

You're in. I was admitted to the Sport Management program last year with a 3.5 and a 29 (1300 SAT).

thanks...however, not to burst my own bubble.. a 3.3 GPA and an 1180 SAT is quite different than a 3.6 GPA and 1300 SAT lol

Not enough for them to reject you though, Syracuse doesn't have difficult admissions. It's only tough for the top students for them to show that they truly want to attend there.

Oh my gosh! I don't think I'm going to get into Whitman. I am soooooo nervous.

ACT: 29
GPA: 3.5 out of 4
ECs: Head of Radio, Captain of Varsity Bowling, JV Soccer, Traveling Soccer Club, Started my own fashion company, worked for an online magazine, attend classes at the art institute of chicago for fashion

I'm going into Retail Management.
HELP!!!

Started your own fashion company...yeahh right! i personally would not worry about it. It's not Newhouse...I'm the under dog here. what do you think?
