(I will do everything in my power to make all A's Sr. yr. -- if I do, I will be Salutatorian)
(Also note: Junior yr lowest grade is 97 [only made that low once].. not sure if that counts for something)
-This gives me a total of 10 Honors or above honors courses.

-Will have a total of 5 sciences and 4 maths by end of next yr.

-Varsity Swimming three yrs... a school record was won.

-Job over summer and Sr yr

-TN Governor's School 2006 (I completed two college level courses. History of Tennessee (HIST 2030) and Historical Geology (GEOL 1050) and recieved an A in both.)
-TN Volunteer Girls State Delegate (won and elected a Senator's position [only 20 awarded out of 500+ girls])
-Clubs by end of next yr will include: Mu Alpha Theta, National Honors Society, Student Council, Historical Society, Thesbian, Spanish, Science, Interact, Beta, Beta Epsilon (Thinking about dropping a couple)

-ACT score: First time = 27, Second time = 27 too! Everything went up several points but science, which for some reason plumated. Hopefully a 30 in Oct. I'mma get a ACT tutor and study like no other.

-In addition, I got the lead role in a theatre preformance in Drama, and am hoping to be equally as lucky in the upcoming Musical this year.

-Volunteer at a Nursing Home, but not the typical 100+ hours yet... I'm working on it. So little time anymore.

-I'm good at essays, so counting on essay to be good. (If I could ever get started)
-Student of Month twice, Soph & Junior academic award, etc.
-Major: I want to go pre-med, w/ a major of Chemistry and a minor in Psychology.

Note: I know my AP's are low, but our school only offers 5 and others conflicted with my schedule. Also, there is no 3rd foreign lang. offered at my school... not enough people sign up for them.

You are working against two things:
1. Low test scores
2. Weak curriculum- I don't know what is offered at your school, but the lack of calculus sticks out like a sore thumb.

The test scores are easily fixed. Hire that tutor, come up with a goal for each subscore, and shoot higher than you think you can get (maybe a 32).

Not a lot can be done about the curriculum. Are you taking the toughest courseload offered? If so, then the weak curriculum is not as big a deal. Just hope that the colleges truly mean it when they say they evaluate you in the context of your own high school.

I don't know anything about Colby but I think Vandy is a slight reach.

ED could well put you over the top at Vandy.
Bates and Bowdoin in Maine are both similar schools to Colby and both offer the option of not submitting SAT-ACT.

Thanks guys! I did make an error though >.<. I accidentially copied my wrong stats! I changed my Sr. yr schedule and I now have the hardest schedule of any other sr this yr.

Pre Calc H
Calculus AB AP
Physics AP
Chemistry II AP
English IV H
Drama/Gov

Our school only offers 5 APs and the others conflicted with my schedule. Sorry again.

Thanks for all of the input. Minus the courseload now I do hope that have a realistic shot at these two schools. If I could bring up my ACT I'd really be happy.

Danad -- I didn't know that, thanks, but I still think I would send one in, shouldn't I? Because even if they don't make you they want to see them. I would think it would put you at a disadvantage not to.

Anyone else?

Why are you taking PreCalc and Calc? If you can handle Calculus, there is no reason to take a course that comes before it.

I can handle Calculus, but it is required to complete the level of math under each step you take. ie. you can't take alg 2 and not alg 1, the same with geometry etc. I am doing fine in both classes, but to be honest my school bent the rules for me because of my academic record. Anyway, to the point, I have to take PreCalc and Calc if I want to take the latter. Trust me, I wish I didn't have to take Precalc.

Gotcha. 10 char

Anyone else have any other input on my chances?
