I am seeking an honest assessment of my chances of admission at SU, here is my profile:

33 completed credits from a CC
3.6 gpa (College)
2.65 (high school gpa)
Phi Theta Kappa (College)
National Dean's List (College)
Dean's List
ACT Score:22
Student Government (College)

Um, you may as well through out that "National Dean's List" thing - they hand those things out left and right, and it's just a ploy to make them money.

As for the rest:

Try to retake the ACT (you should do significantly better, especially since you are older and have taken college courses). Your college GPA speaks volumes about your ability to do course-work, and your adjustment to college - it should prove to be an extreme strength. High School GPA, and ACT/SAT scores are used by colleges to predict the likelyhood of success an applicant will have in college. You have already demonstrated that. So, keep up the college GPA, retake the ACT if you like, and give it a shot.

I guess I'm talking out of my ass a bit, but I would give you a slightly better than 50/50 chance (60/40 perhaps?)

any more comments from anyone ?? Need all the imput I can get!!!

i dont know too much about comming from a community college nut it looks as if you've grown from high school into CC. That may help your chances. What is your intended major?

political science/public relations (double major)

oh ok. That cool. Like I said before, i know just about nothing about comin from CC, but its not their mos popular major .

Need More Imput????????? Please!!!!!!!!!

I got accepted to Syracuse (College of Arts and Sciences) today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you. Do you know how long it will be until I receive my financial aid award letter??

I'm a returning student, but received mine towards the end of last month ($42k in finaid! wooo!), so they have no backlog. I believe I received mine the first year around mid-late June or early July. So be on the lookout, it should be coming soon
