History major. CCC student (smc, if it matters).IGETC completed: Last 5 courses 4 a's 1 b. (i heard strong finshes look good)
3.1-- 3.5 major courses
Bad essay IMO. Chairperson in a club. What are my chances for:

yea-- i was told that i had a pretty good shot at the two santa's and i was right at the cut off for D and sd. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.you have to figure the 3.4 is a good sign. Most bus., econ, science and math majors have to 3.8's.

UCSD (reach - avg xfer student is a 3.3 according to their web site, so this is a slight reach depending on your major)

UCSB (possible match - ucsb is a fantastic school and might just be perfect for you..I say possible just because your average isn't overly impressive, but the upward trend is nice)

UCD (match - i think you are gold at UCD)

UCSC (match - not a problem or here either)

UCMerced (go outside, find a large wall, run as fast as you can into said large wall - welcome to UCM -- seriously, this is similar to UCR)

UCSF (eh? you can only apply here as a med student, nurse, vet etc...not as an undergrad unless it is for nursing)

rc251, they all do but for example UCSD has one thats a pain in the ass. One made me shy away from it is, i had to take a year of a foreign language. I can't do that b.c i have 40 units of science classes to take, don't have 10 units to waste for foreign language and HS does not count.

FOr other people they chose not to do it is the other requirement is to take a year of calculus, physics, bio, or chem. I am taking all of those anyhow, but the foreign language sucks.
