Chances?

ACT score: 30

Intended Major: Neuroscience or Biomedical Engineering.... or Chemistry if neither is offered

Pitzer College
Occidental College
Lewis & Clark College
Lehigh University
Ursinus College
Davidson College (my father's a legacy.. not sure if that will make a difference here though)
Dickinson College
University of Mary Washington
College of Charleston

i know i have pretty ~average~ scores and GPA, but hopefully my EC's and swimming will give me an edge.

Tell us your SAT/ACT scores and this will be easier--Thanks,

Seconding the scores (I know u included the act score already, but any others, like AP, SAT II, SAT I, etc), but if you are recruited, and are good, then I don't think you will have trouble with most of the schools. class rank (even a guess) would be helpful.

Pomona is awesome, so don't feel bad if you dont get in, their median SAT score is like 2100s or 2200s...

my ACT score is 30 (i had that in my OP), my SAT scores aren't very good and i most likely won't send them so i didn't bother putting them here. my school doesn't rank either, but i'm guessing i'm definitely in the top half, not sure about top quarter but it's definitely probable.

AP scores - world history: 3, guess for US history: 4, guess for chem: 5
i don't see how these would affect getting into schools seeing as you only send them in for placement, and they're not actually on your application.. unless i'm missing something here.

Davidson and Pomona are the absolute toughest of the bunch.I'm sure your father can go on forever about the countless benefits of four years at superb Davidson.

Pomona College- Reach
Pitzer College- Match
Occidental College- Match
Lewis & Clark College- Match
Lehigh University- No idea
Ursinus College- No idea
Davidson College- Low Reach??
Dickinson College- No idea
University of Mary Washington- Match
College of Charleston- No idea

Do you have any safeties?

@ rrrrrice: I was always under the impression that those scores while ostensibly for placement, were available to adcoms and usually taken into consideration when judging school caliber and etc.

They are available to adcoms, and yes, they can matter in the admissions process. While a 3, 4, or 5 certainly isn't a red flag, a 1 or 2 might be to an adcom, so if you passed AP Physics with an A and you got a 2 on the AP test, your school is probably inflating your grades.

Mary Washington and Ursinus I was thinking would be safeties for me, since I'm pretty high above their mid-50% range score-wise and I'm in state for UMW. Dickinson too, maybe; I'm thinking about applying EA since they offer it and they say that for EA and ED applicants they mainly look at whether or not they can handle the college coursework, which I would with 7 APs and pretty much all honors.

and Tigers Rule, you're right. My dad is absolutely obsessed with Davidson and he wants me to apply there ED. I feel like it's going to be impossible to get in for 2013 applicants because of their success in March Madness. I could be wrong, but that's what happened with George Mason University.
