Chances?

<p>Im from north east ohio.</p>

<p>Weighted GPA: 3.7
Unsure of UW GPA</p>

<p>Class Rank: 52/around 250</p>

<p>SAT:
Math: 630
Critical Reading: 540
(Im retaking the test in the fall, I was involved in a car accident on my way to the test, so I was kinda worked up and I barely made it there so i don’t think i did my best)</p>

AP US History (3)
AP Chem (3)
AP English Composition (3)
AP Government (5)
AP Physics B
AP Calc AB
AP Calc BC
AP Macroeconomics
AP English Literature</p>

<p>Im taking the last 5 AP’s on the list senior year</p>

<p>Activities:
National Honor Society
Interact Service Club
Varsity Swim Team (All 4 Years, might be captain this year)
Play violin since age of 4, also started playing viola last year
Member of a youth orchestra
4 Years work experience
Traveled to Russia with school
Member of Mathematics National Honor Society</p>

<p>I would never want to tell someone to not try for something they really want, but your stats (as you know if you have done the research) are well below Bucknell's median range. You GPA and SAT's are low and your AP's are 3 for the most part. </p>

<p>In my opinion, as a parent of three kids accepted and one attending Bucknell, retake the SAT and improve your score, distinguish yourself somehow in your EC's and apply ED.</p>

<p>If you like Bucknell, then go for it. For a 4 year investment, you really probably don't have anything to lose like I've said before--Other than some $ sending in test scores and your application fee. There are essays as well, so maybe a bit of time on those as well.</p>

<p>It seems as though Bucknell is pretty decent in picking students and seeing through cold, hard statistics--even if your stats are a bit below the median or what anyone else would consider "par" you'll probably be fine here and can still definitely make a contribution.</p>

<p>Not to say that it's easy, but like most other things, certainly not impossible!</p>
