I applied to UW sometime ago and Ive lately become very anxious about admissions because of how low my gpa is. Does anyone think I have a shot?

GPA: 3.1 (i had a very drastic upward trend my junior year when i received a 3.7 and 3.95. i addressed my GPA in my application)
ACT: 31
Essay: I thought it was very good as did my english teacher
ECs: Varsity Track/Cross Country, Part time job at grocery store during the school year and summer job at a beach club, guitar lessons throughout high school

I'm in state at a school that UW admits a very large number of students from every year. I also have a 3.7 gpa at UW already through a French 103 course in my high school that UW gave credit for.

I think you have a good shot. I applied with the same GPA as you, and I had a horrible junior year as well, which I explained in my essay. My personal statement was basically about how my junior year was a pivotal year in not only my growth as a student, but a person as well. I'm doing much better this senior year with much higher grades so I talked about that too.

Your ACT score is amazing so that will most likely impress admissions..and that French 103 course will help as well. I think you have a pretty good shot. Plus you're an in-state student, like me :)

Thanks a lot. I had terrible Freshman and Sophomore years. It wasn't until junior year that i realized a below 3.0 GPA was not going to cut it so I started taking harder classes and caring a lot more. I'm hoping they notice the upward trend and my 31 ACT. Good luck to you as well.

I think you may have a shot too. The gpa is a bit of a problem but the upward trend, UW French course, and ACT score sure help. Hopefully you addressed the GPA in your app., if not you may want to send a supplement (has your status changed to "reviewed" yet?, if not..it's not too late to send something).
