Hello, I am currently a junior and a Nebraska resident. I have a 3.2 GPA, 3 AP classes currently in AP us history, and AP Lang and Comp. and i have tons of EC activities such as 3 sports every year, 1 time letter winner, and state participant in swimming. Another is volunteering this summer at the special olympic's. Right now i am looking at have above a 3.7 GPA my junior year, and hopefully a 4.0 my senior year. If i maintain high grades junior and senior year, will my screwing around freshman and sophomore year in which i took diff classes affect my chances? also i have not recieved my SAT results, or my ACT results back, but on the plan test i recieved a 27. Basically i am asking what are my chances of getting into university of south carolina?

In my experience with my two kids, one of which is a currently enrolled student at USC and one who recently applied, your Junior year of high school is the most important. Your GPA on your last day of school this year will be what is provided to colleges when you apply in the fall. You sound like you are in good shape with the AP’s and EC’s. I think your chances are very good that you’ll get in and if you can get those SAT’s to 1250 or above you should qualify for some scholarships. Which ones depends on how you score on the SAT’s and in some cases other factors are also considered. Good Luck!

Thank you so much that really helps me

I live in Columbia, and I am certain you will get in as long as your grades do not go down. I have a friend who had a lower GPA than a 3.2 and took no APs and is a current student. I think you’ll be fine.

I also got my SAT results and i got in the 1600’s i am not quite sure how to judge my score so can you tell me how to? oh and in college im looking to major in International Business thats why south carolina is one of my choices because of their international business department what are my chances getting into that? if i have or will be taking lots of business classes?
