Change in Direction after May 1

I have had a major change in interests and goals after being exposed to a field I never knew existed, and the school I mailed my deposit to does not meet my needs at all, not offering anything remotely related to it.
Another school I was admitted to has everything I need and all of the resources to make it one of the best in the country in this particular field. I, of course, declined the school by not mailing the deposit into it.

I now highly regret this. This is not the simple pre-college "jitters" where I question my choice due to minor reasons A, B, or C, this is do to a complete change in passion.

Is there any way to change my declination at School B, and cancel my acceptance of School A?
I am really lost here and am massively concerned about what is to come, as School A is extraordinarily limited in what might be studied, something I was originally not worried about.

Family circumstances have changed slightly, albeit not financially, further playing in. School B is MAJORLY closer than School A.

I am very worried now. What can I do?

First, take a deep breathe.
Your circumstances are fairly common and most schools have policies
to accommodate them.

I would contact the admission folks at school B directly, as soon as you can.
They will be able to let you know what their policy is for students who have ‘change of heart’ before the beginning of their freshman term.

Don’t withdraw from school A until you speak to school B.

In addition, may schools will hold on to your application information if you decide that you want to transfer after your first semester/year elsewhere. This can be important as far as HS transcripts, standardized scores and recommendations. They Do generally need you to fill out another application and pay a new fee.
