Hey all,

So I'm trying to transfer from cc to UC davis as an electrical engineering major.

I have a 3.25 gpa and all pre reqs completed by spring.

With the gpa I have, I can't sign a TAG agreement since engineering needs a 3.30, but I could do so for computer science, as it requires a 3.20 gpa.

Could I TAG as a computer science major missing only 2 pre reqs, and then switch into the college of engineering after a quarter at UC davis?

Has anyone done that? or something similar?

After searching this board, it seems like others were saying that you can in fact do that, but I didn't see any mention of switching into engineering majors, only LS->LS.

thanks.

With the TAG you are guaranteed admission to the campus not the major so if you want to do that I’d suggest completing most of the recommended coursework prior to transfer.

Also, UCD does not require GPA until the end of Fall semesters grades come in for the TAG so you still have a chance to get it if you want!

@Matt4200: the UC davis tag website says that the minimum requirements for a fall Tag are due by end of summer 2013 though…

Sorry I was only looking at the TAG Matrix for all the UC’s not UCD’s specific site.

Uhm in that case what I said for the most part still stands, you are guaranteed admission to the campus not the major so if you’d like to change your intended major once there you can but it would be STRONGLY recommended to complete everything you possibly can at your CC ahead of time so they may admit you to the major you are requesting once admitted to the campus.
