My friends created my logon id and thus my email address without me knowing about it...does anyone have any idea how to change it?

i'd like to know this too

I think since the person needed your app id, bday and all those stuff to even get there the system believed he is you, so I guess the best bet would to just ask your friend?

you cant. you can create an alias though i think.

theres absolutely no way? what if your email address is uclasux@ucla.edu?

well then sux 4 u.

once you make your UCLA ID and password (which is also your UCLA email) you CANNOT change it. Sorry folks.

...that's why they give you all those warnings about it...
some friend of yours ;)

so what did your friend make for you? :D

lol nice friends you have... I heard you can forward all the emails to other email accounts so just put yours on there and don't go on the UCLA.edu ones...

you can setup an alias for your email. you can only set it up once, and it requires a dot somewhere in the name.

I had the same problem. I created my logon id without thinking about it and didn't want it to become my email. i just created an alias on the website, which automatically forwards your email to your regular account. you can only create this once as well though, so be careful.

If you set up an alias, does your original e-mail still show up if you e-mail a professor or something? (That's why I want to set up an alias for mine, I picked something cutesy but now I regret it.)

well theres nothing saying that you HAVE to use your ucla.edu address to email anyone. i've set my gmail as the default email in ursa (so all school notices/announcements go to my gmail) and i email professors and TA's from my gmail.

the only thing you need the ucla.edu name for is logging into stuff (ie wireless network, URSA, My UCLA, etc).

^ Okay, I just now submitted my SIR so I see what you mean... thanks
