<p>you can setup an alias, so that your email "reads" as something else but is delivered to your actual UCSD inbox. ie, your friends can send mail to "<a href="mailto:johnny@ucsd.edu">johnny@ucsd.edu</a>" but it'll get directed to your real mailbox of "<a href="mailto:jsmith9@ucsd.edu">jsmith9@ucsd.edu</a>"</p>
<p>but as for changing the identity of your email ... nope. i even tried to do it after i became a grad student, and they said nope -- i had to stick with the one i already had.</p>

<p>just email "<a href="mailto:postkitten@ucsd.edu">postkitten@ucsd.edu</a>" and tell her what alias you want...she responds pretty fast + very helpful</p>
