Well, the new emails are up, but is there a way to change my email address they assigned to me? I changed my name a long time ago, but the email address still uses the old one. I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I prefer the other name.

While we are on the subject of the email addresses, can anyone actually log into their account? I am not able to.

I can’t log on. I don’t know if our accounts have been activated yet.

I can’t log on either.

i cant log in either :/

No, you get assigned an email and that’s that. Sorry! :/

you have the option of making an alias, which is like a new one-way email address – so people can use that alias to send you mail, but it’ll land in your “real” mailbox and you can only reply using your “real” username.

ie, john smith is assigned jsmith@ucsd.edu but can obtain the alias john@ucsd.edu/email – his friends can email him with john@ucsd.edu but they’ll only receive replies from jsmith@ucsd.edu.

that said, just do the cool thing and forward all your mail to gmail. it’ll save you a lot of time in 4-5 years when you actually DO graduate and have to go through your inbox and manually forward all the important messages you want to keep. another alternative is outlook/outlookexpress/thunderbird/etc but those are generally hosted on the computer. IF ucsd was wading in oodles of cash then they’d upgrade everyone to exchange accounts, which combines the convenience of internet-based mail with the permanence/storage capacities of computer-based mail programs.

wow, that was long. guess i like email. :)

^Oooh that’s cool I didn’t know you could do that!

I can log-in and you all can too. You have to change your ACS password cuz your Tritonlink password does not work in the ACS. However, you will be able to log-in but not see anything because UCSD has not created our inboxes and sent folders yet.

I created a new password, but every time I try to login, an error page appears. ):

you need to wait 30mins for the pw to take effect >.<

I have the error page too. I change my pw more than one hour but still have the error page.

wait so, instead of gmail, can I forward all emails to hotmail?

^^^Certainly!!!

astrina’s got the right idea! Acs-webmail is just waaaay too clunky for my own tastes.

Is there a way to set up automatic forwarding?

Check through the settings of the email address that you want emails forwarded to.

How do you send up the acs account so that it forwards to gmail?

Go to MyTritonLink>addresses>campus email address>forward your email, then follow the directions.

the easier way to forward your email to gmail is sign into your gmail account, go to “settings” in the top right corner.

click on “accounts”. under “Get mail from other accounts” click on “add a mail account you own”, and just follow the directions.
