So I checked the admission decisions today and I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted!

However, there is one slight worry of mine.
When I originally applied to UIUC (back in the beginning of Oct.), I wasn't sure of what specific major I wanted to pursue, so I applied into the College of Media--Media General.

Now, I am fairly certain of the area that I wish to pursue into the College of Media--but is this predecided major set in stone? Will I be able to change my major within that College?

I was also considering double majoring in a Media major and Psychology. If I choose to enroll at UIUC, would I be able to do that as a Freshman? If anyone could explain UIUC's standards for double majoring, please let me know.

Also, if anyone has any information about the "Media General" path within the College of Media, please respond!

No, you are not locked into major to which you were accepted and changing majors within the college you are in is usually easy but most often cannot formally be done until after first year. For a double major from two colleges, you stick with your one major for a while but apply, usually for after second year for the second major in the other college (to do so you will need to take any courses in the first two years that are prequisites for that other major so you can find yourself with a tioght schedule as a freshman and sophomore). Second college when apply decides whether it will allow you to pursue the second major. For good students it can be done except for buiness college which does not accept double majors.

What is the differenence in Computer Science (College of Engineering) and Statistics/Computer Science or Matematics/Computer Science (College of LAS)?

Do all these three majors hve the same job opportunities in Depatrmnet of Computer Science? Or. does any one has any edge over the other/brand value?

If you are accepted for Statistics & Computer Sceince Major (College of LAS), can you switch to Computer Science Major (College of Enigneering)?
