<p>Can you change your major for the different colleges from the one declared on the app? Like, if I applied for a certain major within a certain college, say ILR, could I later change it if I was admitted?</p>
<p>You can change majors within schools fairly easily, unless you’re applying for a highly contested major with limited space (I know there’s some form of the Chinese major that has to do with Chinese culture that only takes 20 kids a year). </p>
<p>However, if the major you want to switch to is outside of the college you’re currently in (and it will have to be since ILR only has one major), then you will have to apply for an internal transfer at the end of your freshman year. Transferring to something like CAS Econ (I’m assuming) would be fairly easy as long as you have good reason, but something much more competitive like AEM or even a technical subject such as anything in CoE would be much harder.</p>
<p>Switching majors within the school is easy. You don’t even declare one until end of Soph. year. They will also send out an email before pre registration asking if you want to keep your designated major or switch it (within your college of course).</p>
<p>some majors are just naturally easy to get into bc of their sizes/breadths. for my second major, i literally just met with the head of the major and the next day, i was in it - no application or whatsoever needed.</p>
