Honestly, is it as hard as everyone makes it out to be? I applied as a liberal arts major and now I want to go into business.

I’m having the exact same issue; I want to switch from journalism to English/Business. I checked their website and they have double majors and minors. Maybe if it doesn’t work out switching you can add it…?
Not sure how this works, so I am also interested in the answer.

No, it’s not as hard as it may appear to be. Just work hard and get good grades to prove you can be successful in the major you want to change into. Yes, some majors are easier to switch into than others, but it’s possible to switch from any college/major to any other. The best advice is to start the switch asap.

I’m a freshman and I just switched from kinesiology into computer engineering. You absolutely have to start early.

My entire first quarter was devoted to switching and I took every opportunity to further that goal. The hardest part is getting into the classes you need. I went around and talked to a bunch of professors for the class I needed and I found someone to give me a permission number. It only worked because I was talking to professors a month before registration began.

So you have to know early and be adamant, because the advisers/etc will make it difficult. They discourage you and tell you it’s unlikely so you have to really want it, and make it important.
