Changing majors! PLEASE HELP

I got accpected into CCAS! GW CLASS OF 2019
But i rely want to change my major ASAP! How early can you switch majors and is it easy for you to change majors if its within the same college?
Also are you allowd to switch to a major in a different school? For example, Im in CCAS and want to switch into school of business or Elliott

Sorry for the typo! And please someone answer my question ASAP! Thank you!

First of all, you have not declared a major so you are not bound to any program. You can freely take courses throughout Columbian College, the Business School, and the Elliot School. If you want to do an internal transfer to Elliot School, you may. If you want a major in both Columbian College and the Elliot School, that is something you can also do.

You do not declare a major until you have gone through appropriate advising avenues.

^^^ Exactly. You don’t officially declare a major until spring semester of your sophomore year, so don’t freak out. You can take whatever classes you want until then, so feel free to explore and figure out where your interests lie. If you’ve already changed your mind on majors from the time you applied until now, you’ll PROBABLY change it again. Don’t worry- it happens

Thank you so much! This helped so much! I just have a few more questions
You can take whatever classes you want during your first semester? What does this mean?
Also, it’s not difficult to transfer internally right? I’m about 100% sure I want to transfer to Elliot.
How soon are you allowed to change schools internally?
