Changing majors Senior year? Not what it sounds like :D

I'm technically a Pre-History major and I want to minor in Political Science. By the end of this winter quarter, I will have finished all my pre-reqs for History and 2 lower divs for Poli Sci. However, I was thinking to NOT petition to be a History major, and instead change my major to Pre-Poli Sci (which takes like 5 seconds haha). I want to do this because I need the title "Pre-Poli Sci" to enroll in Poli Sci classes during first pass, and since Poli Sci classes fill up fast, I'll need it.

So I was thinking of being a Pre-Poli Sci major all the way until whenever I finish 5 Poli Sci upper divs, which may be junior or senior year. After that, can I just easily petition to be a History major in my senior year? Lol it's kinda like lying/cheating/whatever cause I just want to get into Poli Sci classes, but it shouldn't hurt since I already finished my History pre preqs. Right?

Go for it. Nothing wrong with that at all. I was going to be a Global Studies major and the GS adviser actually told me to make my major pre-poli sci so I could get into the classes I needed and then switch to pre-history when I wanted to move on to the history requirements.

I think during my first pass, or second pass? I was able to enroll in a Poly Sci class this quarter. I’m not a poly sci major or minor, I think I was allowed to simply because of my standing with units(which is a Senior) even though I’m really a junior.
