I got accepted into BME but i am second thinking my major choice. Does anyone know if it's possible to transfer to EE for example before i actually start college in the fall? has anyone done this?

It shouldn't matter as far as I know. I mean they are in the same college, and the first year is probably the same for everyone. I would just say take first sem. as BME and then I am sure it shouldn't be too difficult to change your major since its in the same college.

I would contact the UT admissions office and find out though for sure, It doesn't seem like that huge of a switch anyways.

Yeah I assume it's easier to switch out of BME than in. It seems to be high in demand since they say that BME is one of the "restricted majors."

meh it matters a little bit, its the same school, but its not the same college, you will have to meet the math readiness program, and maybe some other stuff, just call UT and ask, and they will provide.

Wait, isn't the math readiness program the same for all engineering majors?
haha I have to start reading up on these things more...

yeah, i think i will end up staying in BME as it is but the math readiness is for all engineers and is very easy to meet.

Yeah I was surprised at how easy some of the requirements are.

If it was any hard, the top 10% kids from rural towns would overwhelm the liberal arts department. No offense to any of you guys, I am stereotyping, if your an exception be proud.

haha oookay I am an "exception," thank you very much...? (What are we talking about now?)

I just found it strange that at a school with such a good engineering department, they ask for at least a 530 on the Math Level 2 subject test?!?!

And saying that the applicant would need at least pre-cal. um yeah...I'm hoping that someone [under normal circumstances] would take pre-cal, especially if they wanted to be an engineer!

lol BME = biomedical enginnering yes? wow im so dumb... lol i saw the b and just thought "business", t.t ya shouldnt matter hten

yes i was talking about the low math requirements, not the general requirements for getting into UT.

BME=biomedical engineering
