Changing my Scholarship when I retake SAT?

Hello, so I received the Pegasus Silver Award the other day, and I was really dissapointed becuase my grades are pretty good, and I rank 2nd in my high school out of close to 600 students. My SAT scores were pretty crappy though (I really didn't care to study or anything at all). It was a 1910.

Here are my stats:
~GPA recalculated according to UCF W: 4.8
~U/W GPA: 3.97
~IB Program
~6 AP classes
~12 IB classes (more or less, these are at the same value as AP classes)
~Rest of my classes are all honors.
~200+ Community service hours
~President of NEHS
~Webmaster of NHS
~Member of:
NAHS
SHS
Beta Club
Mu Alpha Theta
Biology Club
Asain Student Association
IB student Council
~Sports:
Bowling (lol)
Flag Football

~SAT scores:
CR: 640
M: 670
W: 610

I also an an avid artist, I have won many awards in different art shows (Maitland/Winter Park art festival) and stuff.

I think I got the lower scholarship becuase my my terrible SAT scores, which really frustrated me because I have worked so hard in school maintaining my high GPA.
I was wondering if I re-took the SAT again (this time studying!) on Jan 26th, and got higher scores, would they reconsider for me to get a Pegasus Gold or even a Provost? I am really desperate for these scholarships because these are essentially the only way I can pay for school, and the Bright Futures don't give enough (I hate that they lowered the percentage for IB students from a supposed 100% to 75%!).

I am also applying for Burnett Honors College, since I recieved an application in the mail. What are my chances for that as well?

Who ever told you that a 1910 SAT score was a terrible score?

Allow me to enlighten you regarding the Pegasus Silver Award that you received the other day.
Firstly, congratulations on your acceptance and congratulations on your award as your stats in high school were impressive. Now a little reality check; I’m currently attending UFL and my stats were somewhat similar to yours when I applied as a freshman, except that I received a grand total of $ 950 each year and my SAT was over 2100.
I’d seriously consider myself lucky as all schools are in the mist of massive budget cuts and to answer your question, of Course retake the SAT / ACT, but I honestly believe that by the time UCF receives your amended scores, the scholarship money may of have had dried up by then. You may want to retake the SAT primarily to improve your chances in Honors. Good Luck!

…I received the Gold and I have a 1780 SAT…I retook it this December. I hopeully will see an increase.

Thank you for the replies! Its interesting that Niquii77 has much lower scores then mine, and got the Gold Pegasus Award. Should I just apply for a re-evaluation of my application and see if they will consider me for a higher award? I really want that $2000 extra dollars. I want to take advantage of it as much as possible.

…but then again I had a 29 ACT…

You can take a look at my Chance Me Thread to see my stats and compare them to yours. It’s called “Give Me a Chance?”

Ooh, okay. Sure, I’ll try that.
