did anybody create a SU NET ID? i think that you can know if you were accepted if you log on and it is not pending any more. i was told that it kicks in way before the officail letters and before the online status.

I'm not sure how you'd do this. You can't create a SUNet ID without a Student ID number, and you'd get that from your acceptance letter. Are you talking about something on the applyyourself.com site?

You can...

...by clicking on the second link
If you haven't done it already it might not help since it takes 24 hrs at least.
I know a guy who did this last year and 7 days before decision his acconunt was approved. You can check if your account is still pending on
https://sunetid.stanford.edu

Needless to say he got in :)

Eh, my son already has a SUNet ID, from SSC (and reactivated recently because of his internship), so he's not going to create a new one, especially since he madly loves the one he has.

martini, does that mean that if u get accepted, Stanford automatically approves a sponsorship for your sunet id? im confused as to what is actually "pending" or "approved".

I obtained my SUID from my Stanford internship. It's now also linked to my employee account, since I'm now a part-time employee. However, I only have basic sponsorship, which doesn't include a Stanford e-mail address at the moment.

I don't get the pending stuff either...

wait, do we need a SUID?
