Hi everyone,

I enrolled in chem 216 but am worried that it might be a little too difficult for me. What is the syllabus for the class? I appreciate your help. Thanks.

As far as I know, its the honors version of 208. Whatd you take last sememster? If its 215, I think you HAVE to take 216, but if it was 207, then you should be able to drop down to 208 if 216 is too hard.

It was certainly too much for me last year. I received all A's (2 A-'s in 2-credit courses and an A+) and one B. The B was in Chem 216. I didn't really see it coming since I easily aced Chem 215.

A good percentage of people dropped down from Chem 216 to 208 before the first prelim and they were allowed to. I took the first Chem 216 prelim just to see how I would do and then tried to drop after getting a 51% but alas it was too late and the professor for 208 wouldn't let me drop. There's really no reason to take 215-216 unless you're a chem major.

What I know about Chem 216 even tho I don't go there yet...

216 = 6^3

6^3 = 6x6x6

666 = very bad number!

Cheers!

Oh, so it is possible to drop down from chem 216 to chem 208 if it is too hard even though I took chem 215 last semester?

It is possible but it's "frowned upon" as it says in the course guidebook. Just make sure you drop before the first prelim:)
