Chem 241

Does anyone have an opinion on whether I should take chem 241 as a freshman? Is it overambitious? Should I just take chem 102?

Is that analytic chemistry? unfamiliar with new numbering system.

Unless you have been in joint enrollment and are already used to the rigor of a weedout class in a major university, I would wade in a little slower....with 102. Then when you ace that class take the other in the spring.

yeah it is analytical..thanks for your input

My S took analytical chem second semester freshman year and then Orgo/Honors Orgo sophomore year. As you are no doubt aware it is an integral part of the three course Orgo rotation at UNC.

He scored a 5 on the AP Chem exam and because of the UNC honor code, analytical chem was the lowest level course he was allowed to take.

If you have tested through 102 I don't believe you will have an option. Taking analytical chem second semester rather than first keeps it fresh for the full year orgo classes sophomore year.
